Vote for Liquidity

The Vote for Liquidity feature lets veORVX holders directly influence how emission rewards are distributed across Orvex liquidity pools. By voting, token holders can support the pools they believe matter most, shaping Orvex’s liquidity profile on Status.

This gives voters:

  • A say in which pools receive emissions
  • Exposure to rewards linked to the pools they back
  • A direct role in steering the protocol’s growth

Gauges in Orvex capture veORVX votes and route emissions and rewards to the corresponding liquidity pools. This helps align reward distribution with the preferences of long-term participants rather than a fixed schedule.

Gauge activation requires token whitelisting. After review, partners can secure gauges for their ecosystem tokens. The Orvex team may also maintain gauges for key assets (for example, core Status ecosystem tokens) to support healthy base liquidity.

Enhancing efficiency with gauges

Orvex inherits lessons from earlier ve(3,3) designs and introduces several improvements aimed at avoiding common gauge inefficiencies:

  • Token whitelisting
Tokens must meet basic criteria (such as a minimum TVL threshold and liquidity profile) before being eligible for gauges. This is intended to keep gauges focused on pools that are meaningful for the ecosystem. Exceptions can be considered case by case.

  • Emergency Council
An Emergency Council, initially made up of Orvex core contributors and potentially expanding over time to include community members, advisors and DeFi participants, can intervene when necessary. Its powers may include:

    • Removing unproductive or malicious gauges
    • Adjusting oORVX emissions parameters
    • Updating multisig or operational addresses where required
  • Governance alignment
Council actions are guided by the goal of keeping gauges aligned with Orvex’s objectives and partner commitments, and mitigating abuse or misaligned incentives.

These mechanisms are designed to keep the gauge system transparent, responsive and supportive of a healthy liquidity environment.

Partner integration strategy

During the early stages of Orvex on Status, partner integration is a priority. This can include allocating a portion of veORVX (or routed voting power) in a way that supports ecosystem-aligned protocols and their key pools.

Future partner frameworks may involve:

  • Supporting strategic gauges with incentives or matching programs
  • Token swaps or aligned positions to strengthen long-term collaborations
  • Technical integrations to make it easier for partners to plug into Orvex liquidity and gauge systems
  • Coordinated marketing or liquidity campaigns to grow shared usage

Specific terms are shaped during partner discussions so that incentives, obligations and benefits are aligned on both sides. The overarching goal is to grow a strong, mutually beneficial ecosystem around Orvex and the Status Network.
